My daughter is an enormous fan of The Rescue Princesses series. After finishing reading them for the umpteenth time, I realized that these aren't available in audiobook form. I'm writing to express my strong interest in narrating the North American audiobooks. As a narrator and music educator with extensive experience working with young children, I bring a warm, expressive storytelling style that resonates with early readers and emerging listeners. I’m especially drawn to this series for its blend of adventure, friendship, and empowering themes for young girls. I just wanted to send you a message to say THANK YOU for writing your books. My six year old, Alma, discovered the Rescue Princess series last summer and we've read all of them together. She picks one character per book (usually the main character) and reads all their speaking parts. Doing this every night last summer really transformed her reading confidence and she hasn't looked back since. She loves the books so much that she's given copies to her friends and we even hosted a 'rescue princess' playdate a few months ago. These book have really opened her eyes to how fun and enjoyable reading can be. I'm hoping it'll be a life long love of hers.

We've also recently discovered your Kitty series - which my five year old, Theo, is really enjoying.

I wanted to say thank you - my little boy LOVES the Secret Rescuer series. He's only four but he loves me reading a chapter a night for him. He calls them his 'big boy' books! I love that the rescuers are girls and also the message about helping animals/those being hunted. What wonderful books, with a wonderful message. He also likes to pretend he's naughty Sir Fitzroy when he has his plastic sword out in the garden...

Hello Paula. My twin girls LOVE the Kitty series, and the Fairy Tale Ninjas, and at 3½ years old are reading independently. We spotted an error in The Star Stone Robber on pages 12/13. The text goes from "Kitty hugged her." on page 12 to "across the..." on page 13. One of my girls suggested that you didn't want to write something there, but I'm sure it's just a publishing issue :-) Looking forward to the next Kitty book this year!

Hi Millie, thanks for getting in touch. Yes, I do school visits and my fees for this autumn and spring 2025 are £425 for a whole day visit. You're 3 hours away from me though, so I wouldn't be able to go there and back plus do the visit all in one day. I'd need to add the expense of a one night in a premier inn or similar on top which adds to the fee. Do get back in touch if you're still interested. I am a licensed teacher who works in a nonprofit preschool here in the green mountain state (though I did both of my degrees at Liverpool John Moores University and became a QTS teacher in the UK! Married and brought home a scouser! Haha).

As a Mom, I found your Kitty books a couple of years ago and began reading them to our daughters. Olivia, now 9, has always asked for new Kitty books each birthday and Christmas. We have quite the collection of books at our house now, so this year I began bringing them in to my 4/5 year old preschoolers!

As a class we have read 6 of your books since September! It is astounding how much these children, much like my own, have connected with your books and your characters. They adore them and are always excited to start the next! In fact, today they decided to start writing their own class Kitty adventure story, which they will illustrate and act out for their parents. So fun!

We are writing to see if you would be so gracious as to send Evergreen Preschool a set of your Kitty books for our school library? We would love to have you visit our kiddos here at school, but recognize a trip all the way to Vergennes, Vermont is probably a little too far. Haha! Would you ever consider a Zoom or Google Meets call?

Dear Paula -- My name is Amelia Anne. I am eight years old and live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NY. I really enjoy reading The Secret Rescuers with my dad before bedtime.

I am on the last book of the series, The Sea Pony, and I noticed something between The Sky Unicorn and The Sea Pony. In Sky Unicorn, the main girl character is named Ava and the baby unicorn is named Clover. But, in Sea Pony, the girl's name is Maya and the baby unicorn's name is Marella.

I was wondering if that was supposed to happen or if these are different characters. I am confused. And your books are awesome.

Hi! My daughter and I absolutely love your books! We’ve read all of the Kitty books and are now reading the Secret Rescuers series together. We’re currently reading The Sea Pony, and we’re very confused by the use of the name Maya. At the beginning of the book, Sophy shows up with her friend, Maya, who is riding a Sky Unicorn. Maya tells about Marella and some of her adventures rescuing the baby Sky Unicorn in the earlier book, but the name of the girl who did those things in The Sky Unicorn is Ava. Unless we’re mistaken, name Maya was not used in that book or any of the others. My daughter asked me to email you and see if the use of the name Maya was a mistake or if we are missing something and if you could help us understand.

My 4 year old Daughter and I loved reading the Secret Rescuers books in the book Cloud Bears were mentioned a few times but we haven’t been able to find any books on them. We live in New Zealand so don’t always get books straight away. But we just wanted to know if you will be writing one about the Cloud Bears. We have even got Dad and big brother reading the series too. Thank you for feeding my children’s love of reading. I wish these were atound when I was little but to be honest I am probably enjoying them more as an adult reading them to my children and seeing their imaginations work and hearing them get excited about reading.

Hi Natalie, I'm so pleased your 6 yr old love The Rescue Princesses! Are you in the States? The final 3 books were never published directly into the USA which is why you may be having problems. They went out in the UK, Ireland and Australia, so you should be able to order them online if you want to. But just to be aware they'll have English spellings and words occasionally, e.g. torch rather than flashlight. Paula x

Yes, I am doing a few one hour free school visits to promote the launch of Fairytale Ninjas, but I'm staying within a couple of hours travel distance of home for these and there has to be a book shop involved to give parents the option of buying the book. That's how free author visits work really - the sale of books option is involved. Hello, thanks for your message. I'm sorry that this has happened. It was a mistake created between my UK and US publishers and not by me, but I continue to get lots of messages about it. Ava's name was changed to Maya in the UK. But when the 6th book was sent to the US publisher, they didn't alter the name. I assume you are in the States? You are welcome to contact them to ask about it - it's Aladdin (Simon and Schuster). They may have corrected the name in a reprint as I did ask my UK publisher to let them know. Best wishes, Paula

We were confused when we began reading The Sea Pony because we didnt know who Maya was. My daughter went back through the series to show me that the there was no Maya anywhere - only Ava. Can you please clarify which is the correct name (Ava or Maya)?

Our daughter loves audio books and, as much as I love Julia Donaldson, I couldn't stand hearing the same short story on repeat, so I researched a chapter book I thought she might like and came up with Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue. She loves it and listens to it all the time, regularly borrowing lines from it for her own catty adventures.
Anyway, she's now managed to listen to that book so many times that I need to hear something else. She only wants to listen to Kitty stories so I was delighted that there are several. I've found two more audiobooks in the series but that's all. Are there any plans to publish the others as audiobooks? It will be a long time before she can read the chapter books for herself but she really does love them.

A couple of questions I have are: What will happen when they’re grown up since there are no grown ups allowed? Will they have to give up being rescue princesses forever or will they get to stay since they created the rescue princesses? What if their kids became rescue princesses, but one of them has a brother to make it more of a challenge! Do you think you could make rescue princes that are more boy friendly? Hi Kara and Alexandro, my UK publisher (Oxford University Press) have said that their guidelines are that you must:
- Say the story is read with permission of OUP at the start
- State the book and author title
- Is there is a recording, share through a private platform if possible
- Record in sections of a few chapters if possible (rather than the whole book in one video)
- Delete the video one month after upload
Of course if you're reading from the HarperCollins edition published in the States they might have slightly different rules, but I would have thought they would be similar. You could always email them and ask. Hope that helps! Best wishes, Paula

But I do like the idea that princesses can come from different backgrounds and places. I tried to reflect this in my Rescue Princesses books too. Hi Penny, thanks for writing to me. I'm glad you love the Secret Rescuers. I had a lot of fun writing those, but sadly my publisher asked me to stop after book 6 and write something else. I wanted to write the Cloud Bear story next. They live in the mountains and I thought a book about them would be a lot of fun.
At the moment, I am working on the 9th Kitty book so expect a few more superhero adventures there! If you move into longer books you might like my Red Moon Rising trilogy but they are trickier books to read than Secret Rescuers. Best wishes, Paula x

I wrote 15 Rescue Princesses books and then my publisher asked me to move onto something else. I'm glad you're having a go at writing your own story because writing is a lot of fun. My daughter Amelia (almost 6 years old) and I have been reading your Secret Rescuers books. We love them! In fact, we have been sharing them with all of our friends, and they love them too. :) We love how brave all of the girls are who rescue the magical animals from the evil Sir Fitzroy. Our favorite story is the story of how Ava, the dancer in the traveling troupe, rescued the Sky Unicorn foal Clover. We wanted to write to you and tell you how much we love your stories.

We just started reading The Secret Rescuers: The Sea Pony, and we are confused -- that is another reason we decided to write to you. On page 9 of The Sea Pony, when the dragon and sky unicorn land and the girls all meet each other, the two traveling girls introduce themselves to Grace (the new character) as Maya and Sophy. Maya says they have come from Blyford next to Misty Lake near the Emerald Plains, and says "My family and I had sailed there on our boats because we're traveling performers." However, my daughter and I just finished reading the Sky Unicorn, which is about the character named Ava, who is the dancer in Mr. Inigo's Amazing Traveling Troupe. Did you change the character's name from Ava to Maya? And if so, why? We have found it confusing.

I really love your books. I just finished The Golden Shell. Is Molly still the one of the Seahorse Captains? Or did she lose the position? Does the Golden Shell lead to other passageways at Harebell Castle?
I read an excerpt of The Runaway Rabbit on the Nosy Crow website. I can't wait until it comes out! If you went to Mrs. Rinberg's candy store, what would you buy? I would definitely buy those rainbow stars. They must be very pretty and very colorful.
My favorite series is The Secret Rescuers. I have one important question. I think the people of Arramia got much better with the magical creatures in the past. In the Magic Fox, the father scarlet fox said that his grandfather met a human who had a Speaking Stone. Ava (or Maya's) dad said that her grandma used to ride a dragon. So this tells us that a lot of people had Speaking Stones in the past. How come people don't know about these Speaking Stones anymore. Maybe one of King Rupert's ancestors hated the magical animals and banned the Speaking Stones, and the stones became forgotten in history. I think King Rupert loved the magical creatures, but he never told anyone about the stones. I wonder why he would keep them a secret? What do you think?

I think The Magic Fox is one of my favourites too (sorry English spelling of favourite!). Working in the candle shop sounds wonderful doesn't it? Yes, I did know that there are magical foxes in some cultures around the world, but I didn't know that in Chinese fairy tales each tail of the fox means that it's lived for 100 years. That's amazing! I will find out more about these stories as they sound really interesting.
To answer your questions: I think Prince Olaf just wanted to be friends really. I love roses so I think I would plant those. Royal Rescues and Princess of Pets is the same series. It's just that my English publisher wanted to call it Princess of Pets and my American publisher wanted to call it Royal Rescues. The stories are the same apart from a few changed words and spellings. Sometimes we have different words for things in the UK. For example, we call flashlights - torches! If I could write about more animals I think I'd choose brown bears or even magical bears! Best wishes, Paula

I think her idea of a story about a little deer is wonderful! I love hearing about readers who have enjoyed my books. I'm sorry there are only three Secret Rescuers books. My "Kitty" books are also being translated into Russian but I'm not sure whether they have been published yet.
To answer Irina's question: when Sir Fitzroy was a little boy he met a unicorn in the wood and his yelling startled the creature. I really want to thank you. I remember when I was in 1st grade and I lived in Utah, and my school was holding a book fair. I wanted your Rescue Princesses The Secret Promise Book so bad. I bought it, and immediately fell in love with it. When I went back in class, I asked my teacher if I could skip the activity we were doing and read instead! She was shocked but said yes and I spent the rest of class reading my new book. That book felt so real to me, and I think it really helped start my love of reading. On the back of the book, it said it was at a 3rd grade reading level, and I was so proud of myself for reading such a “hard” book. To this day, I love hard books that are above my grade level. The next time I had a birthday, my family gave me the next 3 books in the series and I loved those as well. I got 3 more books from the series, at different book fairs that came. They were not in order, but I still loved them. I still have books, 1,2,3,4,7,9 and 11. I recently was just looking at my bookshelf and found my old collection of your books. I saw your name on the cover and decided to see how you are doing. So hello! I also had no idea that you wrote other series, but I wish I had known sooner, I am sure I would have loved those as well. Next year I am going into high school, I really loved your book, and wanted to say thank you, and please keep writing! I really love the Rescue Princesses, the Secret Rescuers, Kitty, and the Royal Rescue series. My favorite books are The Magic Fox, The Star Wolf, Kitty and the Sky Garden Adventure, The Snowy Reindeer, The Star Bracelet, The Amber Necklace, The Rainbow Opal, The Snow Jewel, The Enchanted Ruby, The Cuddly Seal, The Baby Firebird, and Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue.

My most favorite Secret Rescuer book is the Magic Fox. If I could find a job, I would work at Poppy's aunt and uncle's candle workshop selling the colorful candles. Are there other types of candles besides the Blue Whispers and Golden Sparkles and others? I am Chinese. Did you know in Chinese fairy tales there is a magic fox with several tails just like the scarlet foxes? They are called nine-tailed foxes or fox spirits. Each tail means that the fox has already lived 100 years. With nine tails, my mom told me it can live up to 900 years. But unlike the scarlet foxes, the nine-tailed foxes cannot change color. They are white, not scarlet. They are sometimes friendly, but sometimes they would pull pranks on humans. You can learn more about them online.

Does Prince Olaf have a crush on Princess Lulu in the Moonlight Mystery? It looked like he want to impress her. Kitty wanted to plant a sunflower in Kitty and the Sky Garden Adventure for her school project. I would plant roses, daisies, violets, and bluebells. What would you want to plant? How come the Princess of Pets in now known as the Royal Rescues?

I was told from the questions below that you are too busy writing the Kitty and Royal Rescue books that you don't have time to write more Rescue Princesses and Secret Rescuers books. If you do have time, what animals would you write about next for those two series?

My name is Anton. I’m 38. I live in Russia, in Nizhny Novgorod (400 km to the east from Moscow).
I am the father of 9 years old daughter Irina.
Not long ago I had a problem – my little daughter did not like reading any books. She found it boring, not so interesting as watching TV or playing laptop games. I bought her several books with tales, with colored pictures, but nothing was interesting for her.

One day I was searching something new in internet bookshop (https://www.labirint.ru/authors/214900/) and found a small book The Storm Dragon (the first book from The Secret Rescuers series). First of all, I was impressed by really attractive illustrations made by Sophy Williams. I decided that such a beautiful thing must be a subject of interest of my daughter. I bought this book.

The first reaction of Irina was the same as always: “Dad, I don’t want to read it… it is so boring”.
I promised her that if she would start, she changes her opinion. She agreed… And then the magic happened! She gone too deep into the story and forgot about everything. The story about the magical Kingdom of Arramia and a little girl who has an ability to talk with the dragon was really exiting. I was glad and bought her all other books from The Secret Rescuers series. She read them all without any hesitation. The story “The Storm Dragon” and “The Star Wolf” were her favorites.

When the last book about The Sea Pony was over, my daughter asked me: “Dad, what the next story will be about?”. It was too difficult for me to say, that Paula Harrison wrote only 6 stories about The Secret Rescuers. After this Irina said: “It would be perfect to read about any other magic animal. May be a Small Deer from birch forest that has a magical power to heal sick trees and grow beautiful flowers where they were plucked or destroyed. But how we can say it to the author?”

That is why I decided to write this e-mail. I would like to say many thanks to you: Paula and Sophy and all team who worked upon The Secret Rescuers series (including Russian translator Anastasia Brotskaya). Thank you very much! You all are talented! It is not a compliment it is the true! With the help of your books I found a way how to show my daughter that reading could be more interesting than watching TV or playing laptop games. I did it! Your books helped me!

Dear Paula, I had shown my daughter your web-page: photos, some information about you. Irina was impressed and rapidly said: “I just have one question to Paula: the first book “The Storm Dragon” said that Sir Fitzroy, when he was a boy, met the Unicorn, who wounded him with a horn. My favorite books are the Kitty midnight adventures, Tiara friends, Red moon rising and Rescue princesses. I have only read series of Tiara friends and four series of The rescue princesses. The case of the stolen crown was the series of tiara friends and The secret promise, The wishing pearl, the moonlit mystery and the stolen crystals were the series I read of rescue princesses. I actually like all the princesses. I am amazed by the talent of Jaminta. How she can shape the crystals to bring their power into it.

Yes I would have dearly loved to have carried on those stories, but sadly it's not always the author that gets to decide when to end a series. The publisher pays for the printing of the books etc. - I hope that makes sense! I would definitely have written about the Greytail Myrical next and there would have been quite a lot of shape-shifting in the story - which the Greytails are able to do of course. Hi Betsy, sorry it's taken me so long to reply! Thanks for all your questions. I'm afraid I can't answer all of the Rescue Princesses ones as the books were written a few years ago and I can't remember the answers to all of the things you're asking. I think that Molly did improve her behaviour though, and yes there was an Academy for the princes.
Grace had to put her Speaking Stone into the water as its powers are linked to the sea. Yes, Max has superpowers too! Yes, Kitty can talk to all animals, not just cats.

I have read the first and second Kitty books. I first started reading them because I saw Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue on the book trust website and I was interested so my mum bought it for me. We have the next two books ready to read. I �Kitty.In the second book � I had an idea about how precious got Her hypnotist skills. I thought � she might have belonged to a hypnotist magician � and he taught her how to hypnotise the dog �. I think � that Kitty could be in the woods in a book �because so far she has only had adventures in the town. I was also wondering where kitty goes to school and what is her school � called?.
I think you are a really good writer because it is hard to predict what will happen next in the book. I want to be an author when I’m older and I have already written two books , my latest one is called “The Sea Llama” and it is about two llamas named Violet and Mark who try to find their parents in Peru.

Hi Becky, I really love these ideas, especially the moon deer and how they work with the star wolves! Your story about Colette is brilliant too. Perhaps Colette could rescue the moon deer? Those magical creatures might have come to graze in the meadows near the castle and perhaps that's when Sir Fitzroy sees them.

Hi, again, Paula. Thank you very much for writing me back. I think the golden eagles should bring sunlight to the people, animals, and plants of Arramia. I learned in my science classes that every living thing on Earth needs sunlight and sun energy.
I can tell you everything about the magical animals I just created. So this post could be very long. Lovebugs look like ladybugs, and they have the ability to bring love and friendship to people and humans everywhere in the kingdom. Flying monkeys make the wind and breezes and live in the mountains. Moon deers bring moonlight to Earth and takes good care of the moon. They even work together with star wolves at night, so the moon and the stars can appear at nightfall. Snow swans can make ice, snow, and frost and live in the coldest places in Arramia. Night kittens take care of nighttime, rainbow Pegasus ponies bring color to the world, blossom bunnies take care of flower, fruits, and vegetables, musical birds sing to cure sickness and injuries, and forest squirrels make sure no one hurts the forests and their creatures. Did you know without any blossom bunnies, there won't be any food for the people in the kingdom. Forest squirrels can also fly and magically grow forest trees.
I can also tell you more about the story I created about Queen Viola's niece. Her name is Colette. Unlike most of the royal family, she is kind to magical creatures and loves listening and reading stories about magical animals. Her spoiled older cousin Molly does not like the magical creatures and would love to boss her cousin around. Queen Viola picks Molly to be her favorite niece and is unkind to Colette. While visiting her aunt and cousin one day, she meets Sophy and discovers Windrunner and some of the other secret rescuers. At first, Emma, Maya, and the others don't trust Colette because she is a relative of the queen. But they soon know she loves animals is kind to Windrunner, Marella, and the others. Colette discovers that Sir Fitzroy is planning to harm some magical creatures ( but I haven't decided which creature Princess Colette should rescue). With the help of the other Secret Rescuers, Colette secretly stops her aunt, gets her Speaking Stone with white crystals, saves the animals, and stands up to Molly. Molly discovers about the secrets rescuers and plans to tell her aunt and get her cousin in trouble again, but the magical creatures that Colette rescues casts a spell on Molly. Molly loses her memories of the Secret Rescuers and returns to her kingdom, which stops the queen and her knight from finding out about it. In the end, Colette decides to stay at Greytowers Castle and help Sophy with the rescues. She tells Sophy that is she is too busy with her chores she can ride Windrunner and help with the rescues.
Sorry if this is very long. I feel like with this story there is a Rescue Princess who is a Secret Rescuer. Colette and Sophy's friendship would be like the Tiara Friends, Jess and Millie. What do you think of this story? Please write back if you have any comments.

My name is Becky. I really love the Secret Rescuers. But I wonder. What exactly do the giant eagles with golden feathers do? How can they help people? Are there any other magical creatures that have not been mentioned yet?
I just come up with a magical story about the Secret Rescuers. I pretend that Queen Viola has a niece who meets and becomes friends with Sophy. This niece loves magical creatures while her aunt and cousin, who is Queen Viola's other niece does not. She has her own Speaking Stone and rescues one of the magical animals in Arramia. What do you think of this story? I like to think that at least one member of the Arramia royal family likes magical creatures.
I also came with my own magical creatures. They are magical lovebugs, flying monkeys (like the Wizard of Oz), moon dears, snow swans, night kittens, rainbow pegasus, blossom bunnies, musical birds, and forest squirrels. What do you think. Sorry, but I think this letter is already long enough, so I won't explain what each of these creatures can do. But I can write to you back to tell you about them.

What happened is that the original covers and book titles didn't go down well with book sellers so the books were re-published under new covers and names. It happens sometimes. So Crystal Mirror became Red Moon Rising. Wildwood Arrow became Dark Tree Shining, Book 3 which never made it to publication under the old titles, is called Pale Peak Burning. In the story, Bea and Keira find an abandoned seal pup in a secret cove and with a storm coming, they know they have to help the creature. You're quite right, Samantha is a perfect for being a Rescue Princess but she was a few years younger than the others and that's why she didn't become one until later.
The kingdoms in the Rescue Princesses series are meant to be imaginary but you're right they do match countries in our world quite closely. I'd say Rosalind's kingdom is in Europe while Ella comes from an island off the coast of America. I hope that helps! Best wishes, Paula xx

I really like The Shimmering Stone. But I have a question. I have read all the other books after The Shimmering Stone, and every time Lottie and Rosalind meet a new princess who loves animals, including Maya, Summer, and Ella, they welcome them as new Rescue Princesses. Why didn't Princess Samantha become a Rescue Princess when she helped them with Sizzle and Lemon Drop? She was very nice to the four princesses when her older brother Henry wasn't, so she is perfect to be a Rescue Princess. Rescue Princesses are supposed to kind and brave, She even said her home has lots of animals, so I know she loves animals just like all the Rescue Princesses in the books.
I'm also wondering about something else. I know Summer and Lily are from kingdoms in Australia, Jaminta and Maya come from kingdoms in Asia, Clarabel and Freya live in kingdoms close to the North Pole, Emily and her younger sister Lottie are from kingdoms in England , Zina and Amina live in kingdoms in India, Lulu comes from a kingdom in Africa, and Isabella live in a kingdom from South America. I know Scarlett's kingdom is in North America, but where are Ella and Rosalind's kingdoms located in? What country or continent would they be living in?

I have some more questions. Which of the Rescue Princess animals that have been rescued do you like? I love Daisy the bunny, Minky the kitten, Lucky the panda, Cupcake the koala, Fudge the joey, and Sparky the baby otter.
If you were a Secret Rescuer, which magical animal would you fly to take you to other places? I think I would fly a sky unicorn. Where in the Kingdom of Arramia would you visit? I would choose Penlee, because I would love to buy one of Poppy's colorful candles and Mr. Lott's cakes. I would also visit the Whispering Woods, because of the forest animals and star wolves. I would not want visit Greytowers Castle, because I don't want to bump into Sir Fitzroy and Queen Viola. But I would love to see Sophy and the all the other Secret Rescuers, including Lucas and Natasha.

Hello BR, Yes there are 3 more Rescue Princesses books after Golden Shell making a total of 15. There are 6 Secret Rescuers books altogether, but my publisher asked me to change the Silver Dolphin idea into The Sea Pony. So the Silver Dolphin book doesn't exist! Review for “Robyn Silver: The Midnight Chimes” by Paula Harrison:

It’s the first book from the Robyn Silver series and it’s written by one of the most appreciated British authors in children’s literature, Paula Harrison. The story follows eleven-year-old Robyn Silver whose wish for more excitement in her life comes true when she begins to see strange creatures which only she can see. Due to some events, her school is forced to move to the mysterious Grimdean House in which she meets Mr. Cryptorum, the strange and mysterious owner. Later on, she will discover that there is more to the story than meets the eye. She will also understand the meaning of the saying “Be careful what you wish for.”
Mrs. Harrison displays a remarkable talent in storytelling and manages to capture the readers’ attention through her unique writing style which is also straightforward even for older readers. The author introduces us into a world full of mystery, suspense, adventure and excitement in which the readers will find themselves into the characters’ shoes and “live” the tale. I recommend this book to readers 12+ because there are some scenes which are scary for younger readers.

I loved the Rescue Princesses so much I wrote five more books ending after Zina's where me, my sister, my mom, and my dad as a princess find a secret passageway and the magic rings the Rescue Princesses used. Hi Katherine, thanks for your questions. The Red Moon Rising series was originally supposed to be more than 3 books, so when I found out from my publisher that we were stopping at 3 books I tried to complete Laney's story as much as I could but having her find all the Myricals in the 3rd book really wouldn't have worked. I decided that if I ever got a chance to come back to the series I would focus on the Greytail Myrical next and write it from Claudia's point of view. I wanted to have lots of shape shifting in the 4th book and also feature the Kestrels who haven't appeared as yet.
I really like all the tribes - I find it hard to pick a favourite - but to me Laney always was closest to her mother's side of the family. (avoiding spoilers for other people!) Hope that answers your questions. Best wishes, Paula

Hi Lori, there has been a break since I wrote book 12 (The Golden Shell) because I've been working on two other series Tiara Friends and The Secret Rescuers. But I've now written 3 more books in the Rescue Princesses series and if you're in the UK you'll be able to buy it from next May - it's called The Enchanted Ruby. I don't have any overseas publication dates yet, but if you're in the US or Australia or elsewhere you still should be able to purchase the new book online. Bear in mind it'll have English spelling etc. 'mum' rather than 'mom' and 'torch' not 'flashlight'. Hope that helps! Paula x

Ms.Harrison, I just started reading #3 of your Rescue Princesses books to my daughters (5 & 2) and I am loving it. They hang on every word which for little ones is usually unheard of. Since they are so little I stick to a chapter a night and I love that they are just long enough to hold their attention but not so long to make them bored. You are an amazing writer and I can't wait to buy the other 11 books plus am keeping my fingers crossed that the other three books you are writing come to America soon. If not then I will be asking my cousin who is currently in England to keep an eye out for them for me.

Hi Stephania, well there are 12 Rescue Princesses books already published starting with The Secret Promise and ending with The Golden Shell. I've now written 3 more and 2 of those are coming out next year here in the UK but I don't have a date for them coming out in America yet. The next one is called The Enchanted Ruby! Even if they're not out in America you can often get hold of them easily by buying online.
I don't know New Jersey very well because I live in England! I did come to Florida with my family last year though and we had an amazing time. We even swam with manatees!

Hey Paula,I just want to say that I am a HUGEEEE fan of the Rescue Princesses.I love them!!!!I also want to say that I have a name of a kingdom and a title for a book of the Rescue Princesses.The name of the kingdom is Blofem,a kingdom with an occasion that grows the special flower fruit for their birds.The name of the title is The Special Mission.These can really come in handy when you ran out of ideas for your next book.Even though I have never met you or talked to you in comments I am really excited for your next book.I can try to convince my mom to see you the next time you make a new issue of the Rescue Princesses.You can nickname me Step because my name has that word.Since I don't have email please send it to me back to this website.I have a question for you,What are book covers made of?I know you can answer that because you are a author and write books.Hope you write soon.That is all I want to say and bye for now.

My name is Hannah Scott and I'm aged 9. I want you to know that I really love your books!! The rescue princesses were great and I'm now staring to share them with all my friends at school so that they can read them too. I've just finished reading Robyn Silver (read it in four days) and I'm so excited for the next one!! My mum has shown it to me online and has promised to buy it for me if I continue to work hard at school. I have a new idea for a Rescue Princess book: I'd like to see all the Rescue Princesses team up together and solve one big, huge problem, and I think the villains from each book could also team up to create that big, huge problem. I think this would be a good idea because Emily could work with Lottie because they are sisters, and Jaminta and Isabella would make partners, too. Thanks for your message on my website. I've emailed you a reply but here's a copy in case it's helpful for others.
How about getting the boys to do some animal tracking? Maybe print off some footprints of various animals and see if they can match the animal to the prints. Also, if the party is based around a ball then musical statues or musical bumps are good for boys and girls. I've had some great times at events where I bought or cut out cardboard crowns and got children to decorate them. The boys make crowns while the girls do tiaras.

Thanks for writing to me! I'm so pleased you've enjoyed The Rescue Princesses and the Red Moon Rising books. I am writing new things but it's all top secret at the moment!! In the meantime you might like The Secret Rescuers series which starts with The Storm Dragon and then The Sky Unicorn. They aren't as long as Red Moon Rising but they're very magical!! You could always try one out from your library.

My daughter is a huge fan of your Rescue Princesses and is very disappointed that there are only 12 stories. Are you planning on continuing the series? She has new concepts and first chapter beginnings for the A to Z Mysteries, and I have a feeling that she might try the same for Rescue Princesses.
